They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger

So, the topic for this blog is, what has been your worst experience as a retailer and has it led to an improvement in your business? How did you solve the problem or overcome it? For example, has crime been a problem for you in the past and therefore you’ve increased your security since? Tell us about your experiences and how they have ultimately had a positive outcome.

My worst experience as a retailer is quite simply that I have a wonderful and popular product but I have no finance to open a proper shop. The rent and rates that you have to pay in the retail sector is just far too high for me so I have to make do with selling on markets etc. I have a small following of regular customers and know that if I could afford to open a good retail outlet I would do well. But at the moment I am really struggling to make profits and pay rent.
